Podcast Host Biography

Dr. Mather earned his Ph.D. in experimental psychology and has authored four books and over 40 peer reviewed journal articles. He is an award-winning teacher and researcher who conducts research in social psychology, forensic science, and human factors.

Dr. Mather has been featured in articles for The Atlantic, Pacific Standard, Lifezette, Psychology Today, Heterodox Academy, and Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs. He has appeared in radio interviews on The Larry O'Connor Show (WMAL, Washington, DC), The Laura Ingraham Show and The Ethan Bearman Show (KGO, San Francisco, CA), podcasts for the Washington Examiner, as well as on television on The Ingraham Angle (Fox News). 

Following the bold Spring 2016 publication of his blog at Psychology Today, he became the most vocal publicly-identified conservative voice in the field of social psychology. His national television debut came on The Ingraham Angle on Fox News during Brett Kavanaugh’s Senate Judiciary hearings.

In college, Dr. Mather studied psychology, political science, and religion, including a Constitutional Law class from the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Missouri. He also worked in the psychology department of a maximum security prison. 

In addition to his work in higher education, he spent time in a top 10 national golf market as a nationally top ranked golf salesman and certified club fitter, as a volunteer assistant coach for two college baseball teams over the course of five seasons, as a volunteer strategy consultant for a congressional campaign, and as a management consultant for over twenty years. He has also served as a judge for the OKCine Latino Film Festival since 2020.
